I figured that I would start the blog off with a fan favorite and famous #1, Robert Pershing Doerr. Doerr was aptly named after World War I general John J. Pershing. When he retired, Doerr was the Red Sox all-time leader in career games, at bats, hits, doubles, total bases, and runs batted in. (All of these records were surpassed by his teammate Ted Williams.)
